DESCRIPTION:<p>	We are excited to offer an in-person component to this Digital Accessibility Foundations class!</p><p>	This class takes place over the course of TWO days: <strong>in-person</strong> on Tuesday, October 18 and <strong>virtual</strong> on Wednesday, October 19. Attendance is required for both days to receive credit for attending. </p><!--break--><p>	Day 1 - Tuesday, October 18: <strong>IN-PERSON</strong> session held at 124 Mt. Auburn St. in Cambridge, MA. Class will be held from 9AM-4PM in room 3318. There will be NO virtual option this day. Lunch will be provided; please let us know of any dietary restrictions prior to October 12, 2022 by emailing digitalaccessibility@harvard.edu.</p><p>	Day 2 - Wednesday, October 19: <strong>VIRTUAL</strong> sessions held via Zoom:</p><ul>	<li>		Session 1: 9am-11am	</li>	<li>		Session 2: 1pm-3pm	</li></ul><p>	This course is part of the IT Academy, but is open to all and recommended for anyone and everyone at Harvard. It provides an overview of digital accessibility and includes a number of activities for which <strong>your laptop will be required</strong>.</p><p>	This course will cover: </p><ul>	<li>		Introduction to accessibility – gain understanding about the meaning, history, and importance of digital accessibility, and the types of disabilities that people experience. 	</li>	<li>		Assistive Technology - explore a variety of technologies that people use to access digital content. 	</li>	<li>		Accessibility Policies and Practices at Harvard - hear more about Harvard’s Digital Accessibility Policy, Accessible Technology Procurement and Development Policy, and the recent Captioning Settlement Requirements.	</li>	<li>		Accessible Content, Code, and Design - learn about core concepts of accessibility in web design and document creation.	</li>	<li>		Tools for Assessment - discover and try out automated tools and manual checks for accessibility. 	</li>	<li>		Next Steps and Resources - reflect on shared resources and learn about concrete actions you can take to incorporate accessibility into your workflow.	</li></ul><p>	Prior to class please install or bookmark the following applications: </p><ul>	<li>		Windows users: Download <a href="https://www.nvaccess.org/download/">NVDA Screen Reader</a>	</li>	<li>		Mac users: VoiceOver Screen Reader is built into your device	</li>	<li>		<a href="https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/siteimprove-accessibility/efcfolpjihicnikpmhnmphjhhpiclljc">Siteimprove’s Accessibility Checker</a> for Google Chrome 	</li></ul><h2>	Class sessions: </h2><ul>	<li>		Tuesday, October 18, 9:00AM – 4:00PM, In Person at 124 Mt.
