This course provides an overview of the concepts and concrete steps to create accessible PDFs in Adobe Acrobat Pro. Designing with accessibility in mind improves ease of use and access to your content for everyone.
When purchasing technology from vendors, it’s important to make sure that the vendor commits to providing an accessible product. In this course you’ll learn how to start the accessibility conversation with a vendor, as well as how to assess a vendor’s approach to accessibility. We’ll also cover Harvard’s procurement process, including the Accessibility Rider, and what to do when that Rider can’t be signed.

The course will include an overview of free browser extensions and automated tools, as well as manual testing approaches, with interactive demonstrations of various methods and techniques. We’ll also discuss how to report accessibility issues in a meaningful, actionable way.

This training will introduce learners to digital accessibility, demonstrate its importance, and provide guidance around Harvard’s Digital Accessibility Policy. We will discuss best practices for creating accessible digital content, and also for updating existing content to make it accessible to all users.
This course provides an overview of the concepts and concrete steps to create accessible documents in Microsoft PowerPoint and Google Slides. It also introduces how to convert accessible slideshows into accessible PDFs.
This training will be held virtually via Zoom on Junr 26th & 27th from 9 am - 11 am, and 1 pm - 3 pm each day. This course is part of the IT Academy, but is open to all and recommended for anyone and everyone at Harvard.
Learn how the HTML and CSS that you write or edit can make or break the usability of a site for people with disabilities. Through examples and activities, we'll cover essential steps in designing for accessibility. Attendees should understand what "accessibility" is and why it matters; Digital Accessibility for Content Creators and Digital Accessibility Foundations are two good, introductory options.
Please make sure to attend both sessions, the training is split into two, two-hour parts. This training will be held virtually via Zoom in two sessions: 10 am - 12 pm, and 2 pm - 4 pm.
